As part of an effort to re-associate the MTV brand with music, as well as directly challenge established online music purveyors such as Vevo and MySpace, MTV has launched “MTV Music Meter”: A new music discovery service which uses data culled from social networks to determine which artists are generating the most buzz at any given moment.
